We offer Essilor lenses to our customers who want the latest technology and premium products, with the highest level of vision.

Essilor is world famous for the first varifocal invented in 1959 called Varilux. Today, more than 300 million people around the world wear, or have worn Varilux lenses, with statistics proving a new wearer every 3 seconds!

We are proud to offer Essilor lenses when shopping on our website for your new glasses or prescription sunglasses. Below you will find more information about each Essilor lens we offer.

Essilor Single Vision

Essilor single vision lenses are optimised to protect, enhance and correct vision. They solve most eye conditions – Myopia, Hypermetropia and/or Astigmatism.

Essilor Office Lenses

Sometime ago, there was only one reading distance. That was distance at which we held a book or newspaper. On paper, letters have always been fixed in size and highly contrasted.

In todays world, in addition to reading books, we also read on smartphones, tablets and computers at different distances, and in various postures. On screens, characters are becoming smaller and much more pixelated.

Consequently, our eyes must focus more intensely and more often to adjust to the varying distances.

To meet these new visual needs, Essilor have engineered a new category of lenses for a connected life. This all-new range of ophthalmic lenses provides a correction for each reading distance required by digital devices, relaxes users’ eyes and protects them against the potential dangers of blue-violet light (with optional coatings).

Key Features:

  • Specialised Essilor Technology
  • Reduce visual fatigue for the wearer
  • Improves the readability of small characters at a greater distance than standard office lenses
  • Better Ergonomics of visual field positioning
  • With Essilor Crizal coatings, a lens which simply provides great vision and protection from harmful light at all time

Essilor Varilux Comfort Varifocal

This is the classic varifocal. Offering instant clear vision at every distance. The Essilor Comfort varifocal feels natural to the wearer, which therefore prevents having to move your head or eyes into uncomfortable or unnatural positions. There are far fewer aberrations and power gradients are distributed equally on either side of the progression which results in better balance. This gives this particular lens a ‘soft design’. Wearers will notice less swag effects consequently feeling more comfortable.

This particular varifocal is the most widely dispensed and furthermore available in a range of different options and materials.

Key features:

  • Easy to adapt
  • Large reading area
  • Comfortable vision
  • Sharp vision

Essilor Varilux Physio Varifocal

This is the latest generation released by Essilor Varilux.

In regard to design and manufacture, it is much more improved in performance compared to the Comfort Varifocal. Clearer, sharper images, better contrast, wider areas of clear vision at mid distance and better comfort for close work are all benefits of this lens.

Essilor’s exclusive digital-surfacing process is used to adapt the lens design and enhance each individuals wearer’s prescription, no matter how complex.

This lens is designed in such a way that it corrects the shape of light waves as it passes through the lens which in turn advances clarity of vision. Pupil size is also mapped. This is called Wave 2.0 Technology.

High precision point by point engineering technology ensures that the design performance is preserved whatever your prescription.

Key features:

  • Easy to adapt and wear
  • Smoother visual adjustments
  • Extended vision at all distances
  • Sharp vision as less distortion

Essilor Varilux X-Design Varifocal

The Essilor Varilux X-Design Varifocal is the most advanced progressive lenses available in the market today. These varifocal lenses are designed for customers who expect the highest level of vision. These lenses eradicate the ‘off balance’ sensation sometimes experienced when wearing other progressive lenses, whilst also providing superior clarity and the widest field of view.

Wearers can seamlessly capture every detail within arm’s reach, as well as beyond. When looking at a particular object through a X-Design lens, a wearer can notice an improvement in depth and breadth of vision. This is exclusive to X-Design.

At all focal points including distance, intermediate and reading areas, the X-Design almost has no distortion around the edges.
At £350, they are fantastic value for money and much cheaper compared to high street prices and other online retailers.

Key features:
  • Easy to adapt
  • Fewer head movements needed. Sweet spot is instant
  • Comfortable vision from the moment you wear your glasses
  • Sharp vision with least distortion compared to other lenses
  • Larger reading area
  • True vision making it safer to wear glasses at all times

Essilor Coatings

Crizal Alize/Easy

Crizal Alize/Easy lenses provide basic Anti-Glare. This in turns give the wearer clear vision. It offers reduction in glare from computer screens, tablets and smartphones, lowering the risk of eye fatigue. This coating protects the lens surface from fine scratches that normally occur from day to day use of your glasses. With this coating, your lenses will be up to 10 times tougher than an uncoated lens. The main benefits of Crizal Alize/Easy are Smudge Resistant, Scratch Resistant and Water Repellent.

Crizal Sapphire UV

This is an Anti-Reflective coating which interacts with light by taking into account the visible and UV wavelengths, whilst reducing reflections and ghost images. This in turn, transmits visual information ensuring wearers are protected from light intensity.

100% of UVA and UVB is reflected, ensuring eyes are protected.

Crizal Sapphire UV maintains Anti-reflective, Scratch resistant, Smudge repellent, Water Repellent and Dust repellent benefits ensuring ultimate lens protection.

Crizal Prevencia Blue UV

Light is everywhere. It helps us see and is essential for our vision. However, the part of the light spectrum is made up of UV and blue-Violet light. This can be the cause of premature eye ageing. Crizal Prevencia coating provides defence against these harmful lights while also maintaining your overall well-being.

Crizal Prevencia lenses reduce exposure to harmful blue light while still allowing beneficial blue-turquoise light to pass through. They also provide all the benefits of no-glare lenses.

This coating is premium and has many benefits including, Blue UV light protection, Dust Repellent, Smudge Repellent, Scratch Resistant, UV Protection, Water Repellent and Glare Reduction.
