designerglasses.co.uk referred to as 'Designer Glasses' or 'The Website' is the online trading name of L Dollay Optometrist Limited, mentioned in the conditions below as 'Us' or 'We'.

Contract – The submission of an order and payment via 'The Website' only forms an offer to purchase goods from 'Us'. Once we confirm that we can fulfil the order this proceeds to form the contract.

A contract exists between 'Us' and a Customer only upon receiving full payment for an order. However, 'We' are not obligated to accept the payment and if 'We' decline the payment for any reason whatsoever, the contract is automatically nullified and void. This may happen at any stage in the order process.

On ‘The Website’ a Customer must confirm that they have read the Terms & Conditions of Sale and Supply before proceeding to make payment for their order. This is an implicit agreement that they will be bound by these terms and agrees that:

  • The Customer is aged 16 years old or over.
  • The Customer is not registered blind or partially blind.
  • They have a valid current prescription provided by a qualified professional that is not over 2 years old.
  • The Customer has accurately entered onto 'The Website' all details of their prescription.
  • The Customer has read our Privacy Policy.

Goods and Price - The price payable for goods and services are set out on The Website’ and includes VAT (Value Added Tax). All goods are subject to availability.

Currency Calculator - Any International prices as displayed on ‘The Website’ are an approximation based on current exchange rates at the time. All orders are charged in GB Pounds Sterling.

Mis-pricing - Every effort is made to ensure that the prices on 'The Website' are accurate. We however reserve the right to cancel the contract in the case of mis-priced goods or technical issues and refund any monies paid. As such we are not obliged to honour any orders where mis-priced goods have been placed on 'The Website' or a technical issue causes the mis-pricing of an order.

Supply - We will make every reasonable effort to fulfill all orders placed on 'The Website'. However due to occasional limitations of supply or withdrawal of a product by the manufacturer, there may be instances where products ordered may be unavailable. We will then contact the Customer to offer an alternative, an indication of when a product may become available or a refund.

Prescription Glasses/Sunglasses - Orders for prescription glasses/sunglasses constitute a bespoke product. There is an administrative cost for their return. Please refer to our Returns and Refunds Policy for full details.

When an order for prescription glasses/sunglasses is checked by one of our experienced Customer Services staff, they may refer it to one of our qualified Opticians who may contact the Customer to verify or discuss the prescription.

Product Images - Images on 'The Website' are for illustrative purposes and as far as possible will depict the actual product. However, they may differ slightly eg. colour.

Delivery - We will endeavour to despatch all orders placed on 'The Website' as quickly as possible. For more details, please refer to the Delivery Times section.

Warranty - All products sold on 'The Website' are 100% genuine. They are provided with full manufacturer’s warranty from the date of purchase (Unless stated otherwise).

Your right to cancel  - Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, the Customer has a right to cancel the contract for the purchase of products placed on 'The Website' at any point from the time of ordering until 14 working days after delivery. If an order has already been despatched, it will need to be repackaged and sent back in its original condition. 

NOTE:  Bespoke items, namely lenses that have been produced to a Customer's specific prescription, are exempt from a Customer's 'right to cancel' under the above legislation. For a request to cancel an order which has had bespoke prescription lenses already produced, we refer you to our Returns and Refunds Policy for more details.

Data and Security - 'Designer Glasses' respects the personal privacy of all users and Customers of 'The Website' and seeks to comply with Data Protection legislation at all times. We take security very seriously and transmit all data on 'The Website" over HTTPS. This means that all communications between a Customer’s browser and 'The Website' are encrypted.

We will not sell or distribute your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. We may occasionally use your personal information to send you promotional content which we think you may find interesting. You may unsubscribe from this mailing list at any time by emailing us at [email protected]

Exclusions - Certain brands or products may be excluded from our standard Terms of Sale and Supply. Where this is the case, every effort will be made to state this where appropriate.

Cookies – ‘The Website’ uses some unobtrusive cookies to store information on your computer.

We also use some non-essential cookies to anonymously track visitors or enhance your experience of ‘The Website’. If you are not happy with this, we won't set these cookies but some nice features may be unavailable.

Jurisdiction - These terms of sale and the supply of the goods will be subject to the laws of England and Wales and English/Welsh courts will have jurisdiction in respect of any dispute arising from the contract.

These Terms of Sale and Supply are subject to change without notice at any time and at the sole discretion of ‘Designer Glasses’
